Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle

 

The Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, also known as Honu in Hawaiian, is a large sea turtle found in the Pacific Ocean, particularly in the waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands. They are easily recognizable by their dark green to black carapace and flippers.

 

Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles can grow up to 4 feet in length and can weigh up to 350 pounds. They are herbivores and feed on seaweed, sea grasses, and algae. They are also known to migrate long distances between their feeding and nesting grounds.
